DTF Film Overview
DTF (Direct-to-Film) film is a specialized transfer material used in digital printing for apparel decoration. Unlike traditional methods (e.g., screen printing or DTG), DTF printing involves printing designs onto a PET film, which is then transferred onto fabrics using heat and pressure.
Key Features
✔ Release method – Instant Peel.
✔ White Ink– Coverage 100%.
✔ Size – 0.3/0.6/1.2m x 100m.
✔ Versatile Compatibility – Works on cotton, polyester, blends, and even dark fabrics.
✔ Vibrant Colors & Details – Supports high-resolution, full-color designs with fine gradients.
✔ Soft Hand Feel – Unlike vinyl, DTF transfers maintain fabric flexibility.
✔ No Pretreatment Needed – Unlike DTG (Direct-to-Garment), DTF doesn’t require pre-coating fabrics.
✔ Durable & Washable – Resistant to cracking/fading after repeated laundering.
How It Works
1️⃣ Printing: Design is printed onto DTF film using pigment inks.
2️⃣ Powder Application: Adhesive powder is sprinkled to bond ink to fabric.
3️⃣ Curing: Heat-pressed (typically 150–160°C for 10–15 seconds).
Applications
👕 Apparel: T-shirts, hoodies, sportswear.
🎒 Accessories: Bags, hats, shoes.
🏭 Small-Batch Production: Ideal for custom orders or prototypes.
Advantages Over Other Methods
🔹 vs. DTG: No fabric pretreatment; works on dark fabrics.
🔹 vs. Sublimation: No polyester limitation; brighter colors.
🔹 vs. Vinyl: No cutting needed; complex designs are easier.
